Mr. Loran T. Bailey holds Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with a focus on Percussion, and a Master of Science in Education Administration. He has over 19 years of professional musical experience as a music educator, performer, recording musician, composer/arranger. 

 

Loran began his teaching career in his hometown of Nassau, Bahamas by instructing church and community bands. He then went on to serve in the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band as a percussionist for the marching, jazz concert and pop bands. In 2013 Loran joined the marching band staff at Prairie View A&M University as the battery percussion instructor and assistant band director. During his tenure there he composed/arranged music for the percussion section, instructed summer camps, planned directed band performances, and performed with the pep, jazz and wind ensembles. 

 

Presently Loran serves as the head band director for KIPP Generations Collegiate high school, teaches private music lessons, serves as music director for Truevine Missionary Baptist church, and performs around Houston as a professional drummer and disc jockey.
